The need for myths and idols to worship did not end with the formal establishment
of monotheistic religions throughout much of the world. The inclination to seek
to understand the world through myth is undoubtedly linked to limitations of
our perception and as such it came into being through intellectual laziness,
lack of courage and self-confidence, etc.
